USVM began its operation on September 01, 2023.
The mission of the school is to provide quality informal postgraduate education for practicing veterinarians during the war and post-war period, to support students of the specialty “Veterinary Medicine” studying in Ukraine, to promote the professional development of veterinary medicine specialists in Ukraine and to improve their psychological state. In 2023, our school was supported by the European Association of Veterinary Endocrinologists – ESVE (President Robert Schell) and the European Association of Veterinary Dermatologists – ESVD (President Katarina Varionen).
The school’s training days are held on Saturdays and Sundays at conference hotels in Kyiv and Lviv.
The School of Diseases of Productive Animals and the School of English for Veterinarians are conducted online. Classes are held in a trusting and very friendly environment, and the main principle of training is its practical orientation. This means that veterinarians can immediately apply the knowledge gained at the USVM in practice.
Classes are held according to unique curricula developed by the school’s faculty in accordance with the principles of modern evidence-based veterinary medicine. During the first semester, more than 500 students – practicing veterinarians and future veterinarians from all regions of Ukraine – have already attended the school’s events. All classes at the school are free of charge for USVM students. They are provided with meals during classes. Who are our teachers? These are veterinary specialists who have a combination of clinical experience and scientific work, most of the teachers have a PhD or doctorate in veterinary sciences.
In the fall semester of 2023, this school helped to retrain specialists and master a narrow specialization, as well as improved the moral and psychological state of our veterinarians. The educational process involved 12 teachers, including one Doctor of Veterinary Sciences and three Candidates of Veterinary Sciences.
The fall semester of 2023 at the USVM was provided by highly qualified specialists. In addition to the training courses on dog and cat diseases, which were attended by more than 500 participants, a school on specialized English for veterinarians was introduced, and more than 50 veterinary specialists attended it.
